The Great Lakes Titanic Society invites you to a summer picnic on Sunday, August 29, at Headlands Beach State Park (also known as Mentor Headlands). The park is located in Mentor, Ohio, about 35 miles east of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie.
We're planning to meet at one of the picnic areas located north of the Service Road near the beach at noon. Our first choice is the same as past years – the picnic tables at the end of parking row P-8, as shown on the park map below (the area marked by White Star flag #1). Park at the end of the row nearest the beach – the picnic tables are located across the Service Road. If tables are not available in our preferred area, we will look for tables at the areas marked #2 (at the end of rows P-14 and P-15) and #3 (end of row P-18). Signs identifying each parking area are located at both ends of every row.
There are a limited number of charcoal grills in the picnic areas, so you may want to bring a small grill and charcoal, if you have one. Please bring your own meat to grill, drinks, plates, napkins and silverware. We also ask that you bring an appetizer, side dish, or dessert to share. No alcohol is permitted in the park by state regulation.
*** Please RSVP to Denise or through the if you can join us! ***
In case of rain or bad weather, we will gather for lunch at Pickle Bill’s restaurant located just outside the park in nearby Grand River, Ohio. Please visit Pickle Bill’s web site for their address, map, and directions.
